Simple Awareness Meditation: Discover your True Self

Awareness Meditation to Solve Problem
At the heart of every problem is a made-up self that you identify with.

We all know what it feels like to be trapped in our made-up self. A self that is a collection of thoughts, beliefs, stories, and emotions. As a materialistic culture we collectively identify with this made-up self, completely overlooking our true identity as the Awareness of it all.

The aim of this simple meditation is to get a feeling sense of your Aware Beingness, and establishing your identity as such. This will begin to loosen the grip your thoughts and emotions may have over you. You can practice this meditation anytime, anywhere. Make it your habit! You can repeat any of the phrases as they apply to your life.

I Am That Which Is Aware

I am that which is aware of experiencing a body.
Experience your body as a field of sensations.
Resist the temptation of getting drawn into imagery and concepts.

I am that which is aware of thinking.
You may specify the mind activity and replace thinking with
comparing, complaining, judging, blaming, wanting, worrying, planning,
remembering, just to name a few common ones.

I am that which is aware of feeling.
You may add any specific feeling and feel the sensations
of that feeling while remaining as the awareness.
Feelings such as overwhelmdness, anxiousness, powerless, aloneness, etc.
Resist the temptation of getting drawn into a story, or stream of thought.

I am that which is aware of seeing, hearing, and tasting.
Stay with the direct experience of being the awareness.
Resist the temptation of getting drawn into thinking about
what you are seeing, hearing, and tasting.
